Happy 2nd Anniversary Dogs of MKE! Two years ago today I posted the very first photo to @dogsofmke—this guy in front of this bar. This account started as a fun way to learn photography and photo editing while getting to pet all the dogs and explore this great city. This hobby quickly became a business, but not without a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. I’m really proud of how far this has come in just two short years and have learned and grown so much in the process. When I started, all I wanted was to know everything and improve my skills immediately. Turns out patience and practice (lots and lots of it) was what I needed, just like everyone I had talked to had told me. Swipe left to see Wallace (Chocolate Labradoodle, 5 years old) today and two years ago in the first photo ever posted. I still have so much to learn, but I know there’s no shortcut. Rosko (Miniature Pinscher mix, 15 years old) was found roaming the streets of Milwaukee by a sheriff who turned him over to MADACC, before his family ended up adopting him from @wischumane. His mom knew instantly when he walked in the room that he was going to be hers, especially after he ran up to her and jumped in her lap right away. You could say it was love at first lap. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though Rosko is up in dog and human years, he still acts like a puppy. He’s nosey and needs to know what everyone is doing. He’s not one for playing with toys, but he will do anything for a treat. He REALLY loves treats. He loves both humans and dogs (even his brother Whiskey) and just wants you to pet him and give him treats. (We mentioned he loves treats right?) He loves car rides and going to the dog park where he will sit on the bench with his mom and watch all the other dogs running around instead of interact. “He is super intelligent and a little weird, but we love him and wouldn’t want him any other way. Even though he is now a downtown dog, he will always be a Bay View dog at heart. Remy (Vizsla, 2 years old) is full of energy and could run outside and play fetch all day. When he finally gets tired at the end of the day, he loves to snuggle, always insisting he sit in-between his mom and dad on the couch. When he goes to bed, he also has to sleep all of the way under the covers. Vizslas are lovingly referred to as velcro dogs and Remy is no exception. He loves to be by people at all times, preferably touching them in some way. He is a lucky boy and gets to go to work with his dad a few days a week. Maybe this is part of the reason that Remy often thinks he is a human and sits upright. He loves car rides, especially the Starbucks drive-thru where he knows he gets one of his favorite treats— a puppuccino.
